When comparing the WonderWoof vs. FitBark 2, there are a variety of differences you need to consider. While both trackers do an excellent job at keeping you clued in on your dog’s activity and health, they excel in different areas.
The WonderWoof’s detailed specifics on different levels of activity and its ability to zero in on how your pet is functioning throughout the day is a major benefit to those who want detailed information on their pet’s wellbeing.
The FitBark 2 is an excellent device in its own right, and even motivates you to get active yourself with support for syncing of human fitness trackers to the band.
We’ve compiled some of the major similarities and differences to help you decide which tracker you’d like to monitor your dog’s activity moving forward.
WonderWoof vs. FitBark 2 — Things in Common
3D Accelerometer – One of the most important parts of any pet fitness tracker is its ability to track physical activity. With the inclusion of a 3D accelerometer, both the WonderWoof and FitBark 2 include a system that measures activity in line with the best veterinary practices. The technology is similar to that adopted by researchers in clinical studies, so you can rest assured that it is very reliable.
Monitor Activity & Sleep 24/7 – Both the WonderWoof and Fitbark 2 monitor activity and sleep at all hours of the day. They do differ slightly, however, in the type of information that they provide. The Wonderwoof tracks sleeping, resting, regular activity, and playing, with several different levels in each. By letting you know what your pet is up to and also rating the level of activity, you’ll have a crystal clear picture of everything to do with your furry friend.
The Fitbark 2 keeps an activity count known as BarkPoints, and also tracks rest / active / play time, distance, calorie expenditure, and sleep index.
Water Resistance – Chances are you’re dog isn’t going to be inside all of the time, and fortunately the Wonderwoof and FitBark 2 alike can keep up with your dog’s various escapades with full IPX7 water resistance.
With the ability to be submerged in water up to 1 meter deep for up to 30 minutes, it isn’t suited for very long swims, but you won’t have to worry about the fitness tracker malfunctioning as long as the cap at the back of the unit is completely closed.
Connectivity – Both devices support bluetooth low energy for both connection and syncing. This type of connection consumes very little power, which should allow your devices to communicate and stay active for longer periods between charging.
Localization – You can take the WonderWoof and FitBark 2 with you wherever you go, as the localization allows it to be used anywhere in the world.
WonderWoof vs. FitBark 2 — Differences
Difference #1: Records Trips — One major advantage that the WonderWoof has over the FitBark 2 is its ability to record trips.
It’s important to note that the device does not have GPS capabilities. You can, however, record your trips using your phone’s GPS.
One thing to keep in mind is that it’s not quite the same as having a GPS tracker attached to your dog unless they are on a leash, as it’s likely they will take a different route and travel a different distance than you will with your phone.
The FitBark 2, unfortunately, does not support recording trips in any manner.
Difference #2: Linking to Your Profile – Getting in shape and staying a healthy can sometimes be a bit of a drag, so why not make it more enjoyable by tracking your progress with your dog, side by side.
Through the FitBark 2 app, you can link a human fitness tracker like a Fitbit, Apple Healthkit, or Google Fit enabled device. Alternatively, you can just use your iOS or Android phone to simply track your steps.
If you have a Fitbit, the process to get the tracking up and running is pretty simple. From the “settings” menu of the app, tap “Human Activity Monitors.” a web browser will open on your phone where you will enter the credentials of your own Fitbit. From that point, you’ll have the option to adjust settings, and then you’ll be good to go! It’s as simple as that to start tracking your health and start getting in shape alongside your canine companion.
The process is pretty similar for other compatible health trackers, and the specific process should be pretty self-explanatory as long as you tap the “Human Activity Monitors” option.
Check out the Human Activity Tracker info page for the details on how to set up your device.
Difference #3: Battery Life –Perhaps one of the most significant differences between the WonderWoof and FitBark 2 is their battery lives. While the WonderWoof is an excellent canine activity tracker, it only lasts for 7 days on a single charge. That might seem like a lot at first glance, but when you consider that the FitBark 2 has a battery life of up to 6 months it definitely doesn’t impress.
Difference #4: Design & Fit – The WonderWoof and the FitBark 2 differ pretty significantly in size and weight. With the WonderWoof, the collar weighs 0.7 ounces with the dimensions 0.79 x 1.26 x 2.36 in. The FitBark 2 is significantly smaller at 0.35 ounces and 1.6 x 1.1 x 0.5 in. Both trackers are suited for dogs of any size, but the FitBark 2 is designed for collars that are less than 1.5 in diameter.
Difference #5: Color – The WonderWoof is available in seven different colors while the FitBark 2 is only available in Black.

WonderWoof vs. FitBark 2 — FAQs
Will I be able to track my dog’s location?
Unfortunately, neither device will track your dog’s location as that isn’t the intended use of the WonderWoof and FitBark 2. These two pet trackers are intended to give you keen insight into your dog’s health and activity over the course of a day. If you’re looking for an option that can track your dog’s location, you may be better off with the Whistle 3 or Link AKC.
Is there a cat version of WonderWoof and FitBark tracker?
While the WonderWoof does not work with your feline friends, the WonderMeow is in development and will hit shelves sometime in 2018.
The FitBark 2 does work with other animals, but doesn’t have nearly the amount of features or information on norms and baselines as you’ll see when using it with a dog. You can choose an animal within the “not a dog” list — covering far more than just cats. You can use the FitBark with a cat, bunny, pig, sheep, chicken, penguin, falcon, zebra or pretty much any other animal you can think of.
WonderWoof vs. FitBark 2 — Our Thoughts
