Smart home cameras are a great way to keep track of who’s coming and going via live-view on demand, talk with your loved ones through two-way audio technology, and even get notified of a potential intruder by motion detection sensors. So it’s vital that you opt for a camera that will offer you optimal home protection, both inside and out.

This allows you to seamlessly communicate with anyone using your smartphone, so you can still be present no matter where you are.

Person Detection – SimCam 1S and Nest Cam IQ smart cameras are smart enough to tell the difference between a person and a thing, notifying you with a snapshot or clip of the person detected.

Face Recognition – Facial recognition software will provide you with alerts that matter. However, there is a slight difference between SimCam 1S and Nest Cam IQ when it comes to how this feature is executed.

With SimCam 1S you can create snapshots of your, or the faces of your loved ones which are then saved in its memory for future reference, so it will only alert you when an unfamiliar face is detected.

While Nest Cam IQ can recognize the familiar faces of your family members and friends over time. You can train your Nest Cam IQ to recognize faces via settings, as whenever a new face is identified you’ll be asked whether you know them after which you’ll select yes or no.

Keep in mind that you’ll need to be subscribed to Nest Aware in order to take advantage of this feature.

Network – You can connect either smart camera to a 2.4GHZ, as well as a 5GHz network link, for an even more reliable and stronger connection.

Smart Home Integration – In terms of smart home integration, all 3 smart cameras support Alexa, Google Assistant, and even IFTTT, when paired with Echo Show, Echo Spot or Google Hub, (with the exception of Nest Cam IQ indoor, with its built-in Google).

When using Alexa or Google Assistant, you have complete hands free control over your smart camera, meaning that you can check in on your kids or the postman without even having to lift a finger.

While IFTTT allows you to seamlessly connect your smart devices together, by creating applets or commands to get them to talk to each other. For example, you can have your smart light turns orange when motion is detected, or log all incoming motion alerts straight into your Google Drive for more efficient control over your smart camera.
