So before purchasing your smart doorbell, it’s a good idea to check if your WiFi is up for it. As a decent connection is required since it has to pass through your walls and longer distances.

Motion Detection – Always know what’s going on outside your home! Both RemoBell S and Ring 2 have the motion detection technology, which will send you push notifications straight to your smart device when outdoor activity is detected.
You can adjust the sensitivity on both smart doorbells, but if you live in a particularly busy area or if you have a few prowling animals, it might be better to look into a doorbell such as Ring Pro, as it’s motion detection feature is more advanced, so you can avoid receiving too many unnecessary alerts.

Difference #1: Power Options & Installation – Ring 2 is definitely more versatile than RemoBell S with its ability to be both hardwired or you can choose to go wireless instead and opt for the battery option.
There are some benefits to both, if your doorbell is wired you don’t have to worry about replacing its battery, or it running out of power when you least expect it to.
And the advantage of using a battery is that you don’t have to worry about fiddling with any wires, this is especially beneficial for long term renters. The battery can also run for up to 6 months on a single charge, based of course on how often you use its features such as night vision, and the two-way audio.
There is a catch though, unfortunately for Ring 2, unless it’s hardwired, the live view on demand won’t function. For the reason that it’s not receiving a sufficient amount of power necessary to fuel this feature. Which can be a downside for those of you who wished to take advantage of this, while also running it solely on battery power.
While RemoBell S can only be hardwired. And for that, you’ll need a 16-24 V transformer, as well as a power kit in your mechanical chime box. The setup process itself is quick and simple, as they provide easy to follow guidelines.

Difference #2: Field Of View & Resolution – RemoBell S has an impressive field of view, with its 180 degrees horizontal, and 180 degrees vertical. Especially when compared to Ring, with its 160 degrees horizontal, and 90 degrees vertical.

While RemoBell S has a more slim design with rounded edges.
In terms of color, Ring 2 pulls ahead with its two interchangeable plates of Venitian Bronze and Satin Nickel, allowing you to pick out your favorite.
