Newyes vs. Rocketbook Everlast — Things in Common
Plastic Cover – Both Newyes and Rocketbook have a plastic cover. It’s fairly basic and a little bit flimsy. Which can be a little disappointing, as they have been designed for longevity. It would suit a traditional notebook, but for a smart device, we were hoping for something a little more concrete. Such as the Moleskine Smart Notebook.
Pilot Frixion Pen – A Pilot Frixion Pen is a necessary tool for your new smart notebook. As an ordinary pen won’t be erasable, and you’ll have to replace it for a new notebook. It uses a special thermal ink that disappears when the heat is being applied by rubbing with its rubber tip, or even by using a hairdryer for a few seconds.
You can also purchase a wide array of colors, to spice up your writing/drawing experience! Not only that, but you can also include pilot Frixion erasable highlighters which you can use everywhere, not only in smart notebooks.
Luckily, Rocketbook Everlast comes with one already included, and Newyes comes with two!
It’s worth to mention that Newyes smart notebook also comes with a set of set label tapes as well, to mark off any pages you like.
Erasing – Both Newyes and Rocketbook can be easily erased by using a microfiber cloth and a few drops of water. Make sure to allow your pages to dry completely, before continuing to write.
Using this type of method gives you the freedom to fill in your pages, erase, and do it all over again. The best part is that it’s quick, easy and doesn’t leave a mess.
Technology – Here comes the best part. Newyes and Rocketbook provides an app for Android and iOS that basically takes a snap of the page you want, and sends it to cloud storage of choice! Not only that, but it also does heavy-duty processing to ensure that every ‘scan’ is readable, no matter the lighting condition or angle. It actually improves the image by making it even more crisp and vibrant.
You have the freedom to send the scan to any service of your choice, as long as they are supported of course, so that would be JPG or PDF format.
For Rocketbook Everlast you can do so by marking one of the seven icons at the end of each page, matching to a service you assign to the icon in the app.
Collaborate – Collaboration is a huge factor in what makes Newyes and Rocketbook so great. You can improve your productivity and work together with your team members, classmates, family members and more, using the handy technology that the smart notebooks offer, allowing you to share notes and ideas back and forth.
Mini Version – In addition to the standard size discussed above, both the Rocketbook Everlast and Newyes also have a smaller-sized option, called A5 or executive, with the 3.5” x 5.5” Rocketbook Everlast Mini, 8.5’’ x 5.7’’ Newyes.
Having a smaller version is great for when traveling, or for lighter note-taking.
Reusing Times – Now you can have one notebook for life! While Newyes notebook doesn’t have ‘unlimited’ reusability, it still can be erased up to 500 times. Which is more than enough for some.
While Rocketbook Everlast boasts unlimited use.
This smart notebook will not only save on costs, but it will greatly benefit the environment too. You can save one or more trees during the lifespan of your notebook.
It’s worth to mention that both notebooks also offer multiple page options. Such as grid, for plotting graphs of functions or experimental data and drawing curves. You also have blank and ruled pages too, for writing and sketching.
Newyes vs. Rocketbook Everlast — Differences
Difference #1: Page Number & Material – Newyes smart notebook has a more traditional feel to its pages, as the paper resembles a slightly thicker version of regular notebook paper.
While Rocketbook Everlast’s pages have a more glossy, smooth finish that some may find off-putting. It also makes the drying time slightly longer, and especially if you’re left-handed, it could create some smearing.
In terms of the number of pages, Newyes pulls ahead with 40 vs. 36. The difference isn’t huge, and due to its reusability, it won’t affect the longevity of your smart notebook.
Difference #2: Color & Size – Rocketbook Everlast is considerably wider than Newyes with measurements of 8.5’’ x 11’’ vs. 11.2’’ x 8.7’’.
Making the letter-sized Newyes notebook handy for carrying it around, and bringing it to lectures. While Rocketbook Everlast would be best suited for sketching and collaborating.
Rocketbook Everlast offers a lot more color choices too, you can choose from Red, Black, Teal, and Midnight Blue. So you can pick your favorite tone to suit your mood or personality. Maybe you find lighter shades such as Teal and Red more invigorating, while Black and Midnight Blue can easily match with everything around it.
Unfortunately, Newyes only comes in Black, which is still a simple, yet traditional color for a notebook.
