eufyCam 2 vs. 2C — Differences Explained
Differences #1: Improved Sony Sensor – The sensor enhances night vision which makes the eufy Cam 2 better for night time footage than eufyCam 2C.
Differences #2: Field of View – The wider the field of view, the more area you can cover with your smart cam. eufyCam 2 has a 140-degree FoV wheres eufyCam 2C offers 135 degrees. By all means, the difference is not huge, however, the eufyCam does pull ahead.
Differences #3: Battery Life – This is perhaps the biggest difference between eufyCam 2 and 2C. The eufyCam 2 can work on a single charge up to 365 days, whereas the eufyCam 2C can only offer half of that — 180 days.
Differences #4: Repeater Mode – eufyCam’s 2 homebase can act as a WiFi repeater for your cameras to boost the signal and provide an uninterrupted solid connection between your cameras and a Wi-Fi router.
Differences #5: Spotlight LED – One of the convenient advantages of the eufyCam 2C over the eufyCam 2 is an LED Spotlight. The eufyCam 2C comes with a spotlight built-in that provides 12 lumens at 1m distance which is not crazy compared to other brands. For example, the similar Spotlight feature on the Arlo Pro 3 is 42 lumens at 1-meter distance. However, 12 lumens is still enough to shine some extra light on the area.
The spotlight will turn on when motion is detected at night.
Unfortunately, eufyCam 2 doesn’t have a spotlight.
Differences #6: Anti-Theft Alarm – eufyCam 2 has an always-active accelerometer. So, if someone decides to steal your eufyCam 2, a 100-decibel siren will sound notifying all the neighborhood about it.
eufyCam 2C is the only eufy camera that lacks this feature.
Which eufyCam is Perfect For My House?
you’re looking for a solid camera that can last 1-year on a single charge, has excellent night vision, and a wide field of view.
You plan to place the camera in a safe place (since it doesn’t have the anti-theft alarm) and want to shine some extra light at night when there’s a movement.
