App Control – Being able to control your precision cooker both at home or remotely is a pretty useful function! And you can do so with both Anova Cookers via the app.
You can also set temperatures, monitor the cooking process and even browse delicious recipes to impress your guests with.
The Anova app is available on all range of smart devices, Android and iOS, providing you with an efficient way of cooking.
Temperature Range – Different recipes require various temperature ranges, luckily Anova Precision Cooker and Precision Cooker Pro offer an impressive range from 32 – 198 F, that will be able to heat up the water bath to its optimal level.
LCD Display – With the world turning to smart technology, more and more devices are solely operated via smartphones. However, with the Anova Precision cooker, you have the option between choosing its app or simply taking advantage of its sleek LCD display located at the top.
This allows you to set temperatures, cooking times and more, so you don’t have to worry about how to cook your steaks when your phone is dead.
Clamps – Both models also include a set of adjustable and moveable clamps which will allow you to fix your precision cooker to the side of the pot or bath. This offers a sense of security and stability during cooking, preventing your Anova from getting submerged.

Anova Sous Vide Precision Cooker vs. Pro — Differences
Difference #1: Power & Flow – The power and flow rate determines how quickly your smart cooker will get the water to its optimal cooking point. And this is where Anova Pro takes the lead with its impressive 1800 Watts worth of power and quick 12 liters per min flow rate, making sure your food is cooking in no time.
While Anova Precision Cooker has a 1000 watt power output and an 8 liters per minute flow rate which is not bad at all, it still doesn’t measure up to Anova Pro.
Difference #2: Capacity – The higher the capacity the more dishes you can expect to cook. So imagine you have the whole family and friends coming over for dinner, you’d want to have a smart cooker that can handle a much larger amount!
Anova Pro has you covered, as it can handle up to 100 liters worth of capacity making it ideal for professional chefs and more industrial style kitchens.
While Anova Sous Vide doesn’t have the exact number, it states that it can cook for about up to 8 people, which seems pretty handy for families and smaller dinner parties.
Difference #3: Temperature Accuracy – When you’re cooking prime cuts of meat or a juicy steak, you’ll want to make sure that the temperature is as accurate as it possibly can. This is why the temperature accuracy of your sous vide cooker is most important.
The Anova Precision Cooker Pro takes the lead here as it has an almost exact accuracy of 0.09 F° vs. Anova’s 0.2 F.
However, it’s worth to keep in mind that Anova Pro is designed for a much heavier style of cooking, with much larger capacities, which is why the accuracy might be increased, considering it’s been designed to handle up to 100 liters worth of capacity!
Difference #4: Height – The height of your smart cooker is another thing to keep an eye on since you’ll probably want to stow it in your kitchen drawer and something that takes a lot of space might not be a good idea.
Luckily Anova Precision Cooker is smaller with its height of 12.8″, compared to Pro’s 13.5″.
Difference #5: Material – Considering how much heat your precision cooker can take, it’s pretty important that it’s made from a sturdy and strong type of material that will ensure its long-lasting use.
While both sous vide cookers are durable in that aspect, they are made from slightly different material types. With Anova Pro taking a slight edge with its aluminum and Teflon coated stainless steel, compared to Anova’s slightly simpler plastic & stainless steel design.

Both Anova and Anova Pro Sous Vide Cookers are a good option for any avid cook. Yet when it comes to choosing the best one between the two, we can admit that both are equally good for what they have been designed to do.
The difference mainly lies in their capacity and workload, so if you expect to cook simple, family meals with occasional dinner parties and events, the Anova Sous Vide Precision Cooker is the model for you.
Another good option for smaller kitchens, is the Anova Nano Precision Cooker, with it’s smaller build and cheaper price tag this Bluetooth operated cooker is also a good option to take a look at.
While for those of you looking for extra horsepower, chefs or busy cooks, then Anova Sous Vide Precision Cooker Pro is best suited for you.
It certainly packs a punch in cooking time, capacity and flow, as it’s been designed for more restaurant-style cooking.
